AboutEIT Food

EIT Food is the world’s largest and most dynamic food innovation community. We accelerate innovation to build a future-fit food system that produces healthy and sustainable food for all.

Supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, we invest in projects, organisations and individuals that share our goals for a healthy and sustainable food system. We unlock innovation potential in businesses and universities, and create and scale agrifood startups to bring new technologies and products to market. We equip entrepreneurs and professionals with the skills needed to transform the food system and put consumers at the heart of our work, helping build trust by reconnecting them to the origins of their food.

About EWA | Empowering Women in Agrifood programme

Empowering Women in Agrifood programme supports women in their early-stage entrepreneurial path in discovering their potential, providing them with knowledge and access to a wide network of contacts so that they can successfully set up and/or develop a sustainable business in the agrifood industry. For 6 months EWA participants (Mentees) take part in dedicated trainings, workshops and events, while developing ideas under the individual supervision of a professional female or male Mentor. The aim of the EWA programme is to reduce gender inequalities and gender differences in the agri-food sector thanks to education, comprehensive entrepreneurial support and equal opportunities for all. More about EWA can be found here.
